Geilo is a mountain village halfway between Oslo and Bergen. It is known for good skiing during winter, and hiking, cycling and fishing during summer. Geilo currently has 20 ski lifts of different types, and its maximum capacity is more than 25,000 passengers per hour. There are rarely queues, and there are 40 alpine slopes of varying degree of difficulty and length. Geilo is also a paradise for cross country skiing with more than 220km of prepared tracks in the area.
